Bills AFC East News: 'I'm Gonna Call it Quits!' Says Dolphins' Tyreek Hill
Maybe they won't admit it just yet, but the Buffalo Bills were likely secretly happy hearing the significant AFC East news on Thursday.
In an appearance on Sports Radio 810 WHB in Kansas City, Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill admitted that he doesn't plan to continue playing in the NFL when his current four-year, $120 million contract ends in 2027.
However, Hill said he wants to play 10 years total, which lines up well when his current deal gives him a potential out in 2025.
"I'm going for 10, man," Hill said. "I'm gonna finish out this contract with the Dolphins and then I'm gonna call it quits. I want to go into the business side. I want to do so many things in my life, bro."
Hill gave the Bills some problems in his first season in the AFC East this past campaign, but it wasn't anything they couldn't handle. In three total matchups against Buffalo - including the meeting in the AFC Wild Card - Hill posted 18 catches for 171 yards and one touchdown.
But now, instead of blistering opposing secondaries with his world-class speed, Hill wants to enter the world of gaming, saying he’s already looking to start his own gaming space that will potentially include other athletes and content creators.
"So I really want to get into like the gaming space,” Hill said. “I really want to get huge in that and that's kind of what I'm doing right now. … I'm gonna just sign like different content creators, different athletes. I just been working that, talking to different sponsors."
For the time being, the Bills will still have their hands full with Hill and the dangerous Dolphins. But at least there's an end in sight.
