Dolphins Potentially Suffer Another Key Injury Loss Prior to Week 18 vs. Bills
The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are facing off in what is unofficially the AFC East Championship on Sunday night at Hard Rock Stadium to close out the regular season in the NFL.
However, the Dolphins are facing some notable injury questions ahead of the pivotal matchup.
Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that he's not planning on Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard to play on Sunday due to a foot injury. However, Howard has not officially been ruled out.
Howard, a four-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro, has played in 100 career games and made 99 starts, all with Miami. In that time, he's posted 331 total tackles, two sacks, four forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, 95 passes defended, 29 interceptions, and four total touchdowns.
Josh Allen Brutally Honest After Win vs. Patriots: 'We Lucked Out!'
He led the league in interceptions in 2018 and 2020, as he had seven and 10 interceptions, respectively.
With all this experience potentially lost in the Miami secondary for Week 18, the Bills and quarterback Josh Allen will have less to worry about for a Dolphins defense that just surrendered 56 points and five passing touchdowns in a blowout loss to Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
