Browns QB Jacoby Brissett has a Better Case for Pro Bowl Than Ravens Tyler Huntley
You were probably as shocked as the rest of us when you saw the news that the Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley would participate in the Pro Bowl games. If the NFL wanted a backup from the AFC North, they did not pick the correct one.
Jacoby Brissett started in 11 games for the Cleveland Browns this year, compared to four starts for Huntley. During that time, Brissett passed for 2,608 yards and 12 touchdowns with just six interceptions. Brissett added two rushing touchdowns and 243 rushing yards as well.
When looking at Huntley's stats, he passed for just 658 yards in the six games he played in total. Huntley threw three interceptions to just two touchdowns.
Baltimore was simply worse off with Lamar Jackson out. One could argue that the Browns were better with their backup this season and they'd probably be right.
Brissett far exceeded any expectations placed on him in Cleveland and gave his team a chance to win a majority of the time.
A fourth alternate quarterback had to be added to replace the injured Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Cleveland finished with four Pro Bowl players, but if we're going off this criteria, No. 7 should be out there as well.
