Browns Await MRI As Another Star Player Suffers Injury Against Broncos

The injuries continue to mount for Cleveland as uncertainty over the status of another key player looms large heading into Week 13

The hits just keep on coming for the Cleveland Browns in 2023. At 7-4 on the season, Cleveland has managed to overcome injuries to a number of key players, including right tackle Jack Conklin, running back Nick Chubb and quarterback Deshaun Watson. Heading into Week 13 though, the unforgiving injury bug making its way through the locker room may have claimed it's most valuable victim.

In the bowels of Mile High Stadium after a 29-12 loss to the Broncos came the concerning sight of star defensive end Myles Garrett addressing the media postgame in a sling. Garrett told reporters that he felt something pop in his left shoulder. The severity of the injury is unknown at this time, but he is expected to have an MRI tomorrow. For what it's worth, Garrett seemed to express a desire to play through whatever injury is uncovered.

"We'll see," Garrett said of the ailment. "I've played through things that should have sidelined me before and I'm gonna continue to fight. Gonna do what's best for the team and for myself but we have high hopes for this season and what we can do. Nothing like this is gonna hold us back or me back. Gonna find a way."

Reports from the locker room indicate that Garrett had trouble getting his shirt on postgame as he struggled to lift his arm. 

While it's admirable from the league leader in sacks expects to play through the injury, it's hardly the team's first rodeo with shoulder injuries this season. The shoulder ailment that has sidelined Watson for the remainder of the season wasn't even believed to be serious until an MRI uncovered a fracture to the glenoid in his throwing shoulder.

Browns fans will have to anxiously await for official word on Garrett's injury on Monday, but it goes without saying that the news could serve as a decisive blow to the a 2023 season that had so much promise.
