Browns Kevin Stefanski: "Door Is Always Open," Regarding NFLPA Report Card
As a two-time NFL Coach of the Year winner, it's rare to see Kevin Stefanski not receive the highest of marks.
On Wednesday, the NFLPA released it's second annual NFL team report card – allowing players to grade each organization's workplace environment based off of a number of different categories – and the Browns were ranked 23rd overall.
Stefanski, meanwhile, did receive one of the higher grades on the entire report in the form of a B-. What stood out, however, was the reasoning for the grade not being higher, as the survey placed the 41-year-old 29th overall in "being efficient with their time," and 23rd overall in willingness to listen to the locker room.
Speaking at the NFL Combine hours after the report was released, Stefanski took a moment to clarify the findings.
"I take input from our players," Stefanski said. "I feel really strongly about our leaders, our leadership committee. My office downstairs, the door is always open, even if it’s closed it’s open. So I welcome input and that will never change."
Stefanski did admit that he was not aware of the complaints made against him and that he hadn't reviewed the full context of the report card at the time of the press conference. He also re-emphasized that he wants players to be able to come to him with any complaints they may have.
Along with Stefanski's B-, the Browns earned B+ for their strength and conditioning staff, a B- for their training staff and a B for the ownership group of Jimmy and Dee Haslam, with the note that they are investing in the facilities.
The team's lowest marks came in the form of a D- for treatment of families, a D+ for their locker room, a D for team travel and an additional D for their weight room.

Stefanski was quick to clarify that the team is actively in the process of amending the latter of those, specifically.
“I know in there, talking about the weight room was one thing," Stefanski said. "I’m happy to tell you guys, we’re building a new weight room, so we know that that’s an area that we want to get better.
"I think every year you have to be open to everything information wise to get better."
