LIVE UPDATES: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Minnesota Vikings

The NFL regular season is finally here. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on the road week one as they face off against the Minnesota Vikings.

Pregame

Bucs Inactives: 

- G Cody Mauch (back) and DT Calijah Kancey (calf) are both active.

- RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn, CB Derrek Pitts, OLB Markees Watts, OL Brandon Walton, TE Payne Durham.

Vikings Inactives: 

- OLB Marcus Davenport (ankle), QB Jaren Hall, TE Nick Muse, OLB Andre Carter II, T David Quessenberry, DL Jaquelin Roy.

How to Watch Buccaneers vs. Vikings: Kickoff Time, TV Channel and Odds

1st Quarter

- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the toss and decide to defer to the second half.

- Alexander Mattison gets things going with a 7-yard run to begin week 1.

- A Vikings false start forces a 3rd and 7. Cousins almost gets picked off as rookie Calijah Kancey puts pressure on Kirk Cousins. The Vikings will punt.

- Deven Thompkins receives the punt and returns it 13-yards.

- The Buccaneers aren't able to get anything going on their opening drive and will be forced to punt the ball back to the Vikings.

- Great coverage by the Bucs punt team will have the Vikings taking over at their own 13 yard-line.

- Kirk Cousins finds Justin Jefferson for a gain of 8 yards and a first down.

- Justin Jefferson makes a big play coming down with a 30-yard gain from Kirk Cousins.

- Joe Tryon-Shoyinka comes away with the fumble recovery for the Bucs' defense after the exchange from center to quarterback. The Bucs take over at their own 24-yard line.

- The Bucs get their first first down of the season with help from Rachaad White and Chris Godwin.

- A big pass to Cade Otton goes for a first down, he then fumbles, but luckily the Buccaneers recover. Minnesota will challenge the ruling on the field of a completed catch.

- After review, Otton never had control of the ball and it is an incomplete pass. It will be 3rd and 6 for the Buccaneers.

- The Buccaneers are unable to convert as Mayfield looks for Evans deep, but it falls incomplete. The Bucs will punt.

- Antoine Winfield Jr. comes away with the strip sack and the recovery on Kirk Cousins. The Bucs now have the ball in Vikings territory.

- Mayfield is sacked by Hunter on third down. McLaughlin will come in to attempt a FG.

- Chase McLaughlin converts the 36-yard FG following the Vikings' turnover. Bucs lead 3-0.

- The Buccaneers defense is flying around; once again forcing the Vikings to punt the ball.

- The Buccaneers get called for a hold on the punt return and will take over deep in their own territory at the 10.

- The Bucs will take a 3-0 lead into the 2nd quarter.

2nd Quarter

- Buccaneers once again unable to convert a third down and will be forced to punt the ball back to the Vikings to start the second quarter.

- Cousins finds Jefferson for a 26-yard gain.

- Devin White is down on the field grabbing his right leg. Training staff is out on the field. White was able to walk off the field with the training staff.

- Devin White has been given his helmet back and is ready to reenter this game.

- Cousins finds rookie Jordan Addison for a 39-yard TD. The Vikings take a 7-3 lead early in the 2nd quarter.

- Sean Tucker gets his first NFL carry that goes for 5 yards.

- Mayfield scrambles but is unable to convert the third down. The Bucs will punt.

- Cousins finds KJ Osborn for a gain of 19 to midfield.

- Cousins with another big play on third down as he finds Justin Jefferson for 22 yards.

- The Buccaneers avoid another Vikings touchdown, but give up a 25-yard FG to Greg Joseph. Vikings lead 10-3.

- Mayfield dodges a for sure sack and then has to throw it away. The Bucs are now 0/6 on third down and will punt with plenty of time on the clock for Minnesota.

- The Bucs defense keeping them in it will force the Vikings to punt the ball back to Tampa Bay with about 2:30 remaining in the first half.

- Mayfield finds Godwin for a Bucs first down, now in Vikings territory followed by a completion to Mike Evans - his first of the day.

- Mayfield finds Mike Evans wide open in the endzone for a 28-yard touchdown catch. The Bucs offense finally has something going. 

- Cousins has Jefferson wide open for a 42-yard gain with 30 second left. The Vikings driving right before half.

- Undrafted rookie Christian Izien comes away with a clutch interception in the redzone on Kirk Cousins.

- The Buccaneers and Vikings will head to the locker room tied up at 10

3rd Quarter

- The Buccaneers have ruled out rookie DT Calijah Kancey for the remainder of the game due to a calf injury.

- Back-to-back first downs for the Bucs by Mike Evans and Rachaad White.

- The Buccaneers strong drive to start the second half is halted at the 13. However, the Vikings were offside on the field goal attempt and the Bucs now have a first down and goal.

- Mayfield finds rookie Trey Palmer for his first NFL touchdown from 7 yards out. The Buccaneers take the lead over the Vikings 17-10.

- Minnesota putting together a good drive, work the ball into Bucs' territory.

- Anthony Nelson comes away with a big sack on Kirk Cousins.

- End of the 3rd quarter the Bucs lead the Vikings 17-10 - Vikings driving.

4th Quarter

- Veteran LB Lavonte David is down on the field, but walks off the field with the medical staff.

- Bucs' Izien is hit with a pass interference call on third down giving the Vikings a 1st and goal from the 2.

- Alexander Mattison scores on a pass from Kirk Cousins from 4-yards out. Vikings tie the game at 17.

- The Buccaneers are unable to do anything with the ensuing possession and will punt the ball back to the Vikings who will take over from their own 25-yard line.

- The Vikings fail to get anything going as the ball flies through KJ Osborne's hands. The Bucs will get the ball at their own 23-yard line.

- Rachaad White was ruled short of the line to gain for a first down on third down. Todd Bowles is challenging the spot of the ball.

- The call on the field stands and it is fourth down for the Bucs and they are going for it in their own territory.

- Baker QB sneaks and gets the first down.

- Baker over the middle to Chris Godwin for a gain of 16-yards.

- The Buccaneers' drive stalls and McLaughlin comes on to attempt a 57-yard FG.

- McLaughlin drills the 57-yarder to tie his career long. The Buccaneers take the lead over the Vikings 20-17.

- Great defense by Carlton Davis breaks up a pass intended for Jefferson that would have been a first down. Vikings punting back to Tampa Bay with 4 minutes left.

- Deven Thompkins with a great punt return of 16-yards to give the Bucs some breathing room.

- Baker Mayfield rushes for a first down on third and two and converts. The Bucs are close to sealing this game.

- Huge catch by Godwin to get the first down on third down sealing the victory for the Bucs.
