VIDEO: Baker Mayfield With a Beautiful Touchdown Strike to Chris Godwin
With Baker Mayfield locked and loaded as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers starting quarterback, all eyes were laser-focused on the former number-one overall pick when he took the field for the Buccaneers' third and final preseason game vs. the Ravens less than an hour ago.
After winning the coin toss, and deciding to take the ball to start the game, the first drive wasn't exactly a dream start. A quick three-and-out by Tampa Bay's offense saw the Ravens take possession, and promptly score a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead.
But when Mayfield got the ball back following an excellent kickoff return from Deven Thompkins, it was clear he was feeling dangerous. After hitting Godwin for two completions, in addition to a couple of nice rushes from Rachaad White and tight end, Cade Otton, the Buccaneers found themselves on Baltimore's 11-yard line following a nice throw and catch to Kaylon Geiger.

From there, Godwin ran a modified corner-post route from a near stack formation, to which Mayfield delivered a beautiful throw right between the 1 and the 4 on Godwin's jersey. Touchdown, Buccaneers.
Despite being so early in the game, the touchdown was the fourth completed pass from Mayfield to Godwin in the game, which is a great sign for this Buccaneers' offense.
It's obvious that the balanced touchdown drive from Mayfield showed head coach, Todd Bowles, all he needed to see from Mayfield. On the next offensive possession, Kyle Trask took the field, promptly ending Baker's night under center.
