Buccaneers Cancel Practice Amid Hurricane Idalia

Tampa Bay Buccaneers make changes to their practices amid Hurricane Idalia's threat to Florida.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished off their preseason this past weekend against the Baltimore Ravens to go 2-1 leading up to their regular season opener in Minnesota against the Vikings in just over two weeks.

The time between the preseason and the start of the regular season sees NFL teams make their final cuts to get their roster down to 53 players to begin practices geared for Week 1.

Unfortunately for the Buccaneers, at least one of their practices will not happen with the imminent arrival of Hurricane Idalia.

Hurricane Idalia is not tracked to make direct landfall in the Tampa Bay area, however, Tampa will be on the eastern wall side which is where the heaviest impacts of rain and wind occur.

The organization decided to make the move to cancel Wednesday's practice as a precaution as that is when Idalia is expected to be at its strongest right before making landfall just North of Cedar Key as a predicted category three storm.

Hurricanes are no stranger to Floridians and the move should not impact too much for the Bucs once it passes by the area.
