Buccaneers, Tom Brady Still in Contact Following Retirement
Tom Brady, who finished his legendary NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has yet to come out of retirement and join the team for training camp. It's safe to assume he really means business this time around.
However, just because Brady's Buccaneers tenure is officially over doesn't mean he doesn't stay in contact with the team. Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht confirmed that he, among other players, keeps in contact with Brady.
“I know he still keeps in touch with a lot of players,” Licht said. “I kept in touch with him — still do.”

Brady's impact to the organization in such a short time can't be put to words. In three seasons, he saw the playoffs three times and won the Super Bowl in his first year.
Licht also offered the information that moving past the Brady era in Tampa was a "challenge" considering the tight salary cap and where the roster was.
In three seasons, Brady threw for 14,643 yards and 108 touchdowns. Again, the Super Bowl win, the second in franchise history, tops everything in terms of his impact on the city.
With a football mind as strong as Brady's, having him as a potential mentor or advisor would be more than helpful for the team. He's been in and around the business for so long, his words of advice would still be impactful.
With a quarterback battle underway, Brady could offer great advice for both Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask on how to handle and lead the team. Both are veteran quarterbacks looking to establish themselves as starting-level quarterbacks.
Where Brady left the team, the season could prove to be overly successful or bad enough that the team will be able to land a top quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft, which both options could be good in their own regard.
