Dave Canales Talks About Buccaneers Offense Finding Groove Ahead of Titans Game

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Offensive Coordinator spoke to the media about their performance against Houston and how they'll match up against Tennessee.

The Buccaneers have been a low-scoring team so far this season and have really struggled to put points on the board in their recent losing streak.

But they had their best game of the season against the Houston Texans scoring 37 points, after so many weeks of struggling offensive coordinator Dave Canales spoke about his offense's performance.

"We were all sitting in here having the same conversations for weeks, trying to get something going. I was really excited for the guys. Another great end-of-game finish for the group – I love that part of it."

Although Canales was not satisfied with the outcome of the game, they took a lot of positive things away from their game against Houston.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield had some turnovers in the weeks prior, but Canales was impressed with Mayfield's fight against the Texans and how he is always ready to put teams away when he has an opportunity.

"He's a fighter. He's a heavyweight fighter. He was at 70% completion on the day, which was great. The couple of weeks before that, he had gone down a little bit in completion percentage. The way I see Baker and his mentality – he can't wait to knock you out."

Looking forward, Canales talked about the matchup against the Titans and Mike Vrabel and just how challenging that is going to be.

"Just their scheme in general. They're all communicating and talking and it morphs as you change formations. They play their leverages well. It's going to be another great challenge for us, like the Houston game. They're going to be exactly where you know they're supposed to be."
