Former Buccaneers Wide Receiver Signs With New York Giants
Free agent wide receiver Cole Beasley is signing with the New York Jets for what will be the 12th season of his career, according to Mike Garafolo.
Last season, Beasley signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a last-ditch effort to give Tom Brady another weapon after being released by the Buffalo Bills. After two games with the Buccaneers, Beasley retired from the NFL, leaving Tampa Bay.
Before the season ended, Beasley came out of retirement and spent time with the Bills again.

The wide receiver had four receptions in five targets for 17 yards with the Buccaneers. He played a total of 15 snaps before deciding to retire.
With a chance to extend his career, Beasley joins a team that could use his services, as quarterback Daniel Jones received a contract extension to keep him in New York for the time being.
With uncertainty around star running back Saquon Barkley, the Giants get the opportunity to add more weapons around Jones. Beasley also reunites with former offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, as the two spent time with the Bills together.
In his career, Beasley has spent time with the Buccaneers, Bills and Dallas Cowboys. He now returns to the NFC East where he can compete against the Cowboys, where he spent seven years of his career.
The 11-year veteran has racked up 5,744 receiving yards and 34 touchdowns. He also has a 71.1 percent catch rate across his career and will be a good short-yard option for Daniels. For a quarterback with the ability to scramble and evade the pocket, Jones and Beasley will have the potential to make play-saving plays.
It will be interesting to see what Beasley can continue to provide on an NFL squad, as his last season wasn't able to show much between the two teams he appeared for. The 34-year-old has a real opportunity to show what he has left in the tank.
