Rachaad White Questionable for Buccaneers' Game vs. Colts Due to Knee Injury

Already dealing with a variety of injuries at key positions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be in big trouble on Sunday if they don't have their starting running back to rely on.

The Buccaneers have gone through a brutal stretch of the season that has resulted in them losing five of their last six games.

Still, because the NFC South is without a winning team — The Saints lead the division at 5-5 — and the Buccaneers have a light schedule to finish the season, they are still very much in the mix to win the NFC South by season's end.

With the Colts, Panthers, and Falcons next up, this would have been the perfect time for the Buccaneers to go on a bit of a run to catapult themselves back into the playoff picture.

But it appears as though the football gods have different plans.

The Bucs got bit by the injury bug last week vs. San Francisco, and key starters Lavonte David and Jamel Dean are now expected to miss Sunday's game vs. Indianapolis. Devin White remains questionable coming off a limited practice.

It's not just the defense that may be missing players this weekend, though. Saturday morning, the Buccaneers' Communication department informed us that starting running back, Rachaad White has been added to the injury report and is now questionable for Sunday's game.

Of all the position groups on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' roster, the running back position (along with tight end) may be the thinnest.

The Bucs have experienced no real success running the football this season, and it's been a dominant storyline in Tampa Bay this year. Rachaad White still deserves some flowers, though. He's been the best receiving back in the NFL over the past five games, and he remains a threat to break off runs despite the ground game being a major weakness for the team.

Beyond White, the Bucs have gotten nothing from their running back room.

Which means, if Rachaad White is unable to go on Sunday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' run game may go from ugly, to hide your wife and kids.

Based on recent usage, it would likely be Chase Edmonds to carry the load on Sunday. And although Chase Edmonds is a solid change-of-pace back, he's no Rachaad White.

We'll continue to monitor White's status leading up to the game on Sunday.
