Tampa Bay Buccaneers 'Are Fine' According to Head Coach Todd Bowles

Despite all that's happened around the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles is standing firm that his team is in a good place.
In this story:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5) were once on top of the NFC South Division after beating the hated New Orleans Saints 26-9 on the road.

Coming out of that big win the Buccaneers entered the earliest bye week the NFL allows and most thought it would be a good opportunity to get healthy and prepare for the long season that remained ahead.

Oh boy, were we - and they - wrong.

With four losses in a row since coming out of the bye later the Bucs are not only not in first place in their division anymore they only have a two-game lead on the last-place Carolina Panthers (1-7) and are sitting in 10th place in the NFC Playoffs race.

That's the bad - really bad - news. The good news is coach Todd Bowles has nine games left and a chance to turn all the negatives into positives starting this weekend against the Tennessee Titans (3-5).

"Our team is fine. They were great at practice today," Bowles says. "Once you go through the tape and get over it...We've got a 24-hour rule. Right now, we're getting ready for Tennessee. The focus was good, the practice was good."

Hopefully, the results will be good and Tampa Bay can get back in the win column against a similarly placed Titans team in the AFC that hasn't won a road game all year.

In fact, Tennessee hasn't won a road game since beating the Green Bay Packers 27-17 in Lambeau Field on November 17th, 2022.

Lose this one and the Titans secure their fate as a team that won't win a road game in a full calendar year.

Win this one, and maybe the results will show signs of what Bowles is saying.

That his team is fine, even after four straight losses, and can still be competitive in a still winnable NFC South.
