The Tampa Bay Buccaneers released the return of the creamsicle jerseys Wednesday, and it was since reported that Tom Brady will be able to profit off his creamsicle jersey, though he wasn't able to ever wear them.

Brady, arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, wanted his name on a creamsicle jersey, and will profit off the sales the jersey generates, according to The Athletic

As a retired player, Brady makes another business move that will continue and allow him to build passive profits.

“According to the NFPA’s annual report filed with the U.S. Department of Labor, the [retired] Buccaneers QB earned $9.5 million in group licensing & marketing income in the 12 months that ended Feb. 28, 2022,” Fox13's Kevin O’Donnell tweeted, based on the initial report from The Athletic.

The reason the creamsicle jersey disappeared in the first place was because of the two-helmet safety rule thrown in place in 2013. Since then, the rule has been rescinded, so teams were able to capitalize on their alternate jerseys with another helmet.

Brady began his Buccaneers tenure in the 2020 season, when he brought a Super Bowl to Tampa Bay. The two-helmet rule saw a change in the 2021 season. After that, Brady was a big advocate of the return of the creamsicle jerseys, so it's no surprise he wants his name on the new style of jerseys.

Since retiring, Brady has been a businessman. He's invested in the Las Vegas Raiders and Las Vegas Aces, doubling down on the idea that Las Vegas is a great city for sports. This has since kept him busy, alongside spending time with his family and continuing on his strict diet from his playing days.

The Buccaneers will debut the jersey in their Week Six battle against the Detroit Lions on October 15. For the first time in over a decade, they will be able to take the field in the unique, fun jerseys.
