Tom Brady's Gift To NBA Star Jinxes Boston Celtics in Playoff Loss

Brady's gift come at a less than opportune time with the Celtics struggling in the postseason.

Former NFL superstar Tom Brady has more time to himself than ever before after stepping away from the game for good earlier this year. While he's been focused on a variety of ventures, including becoming a Keynote speaker, Brady has also carved out a schedule to deliver a couple of gifts.

Recently, the legend in the city of Boston recognized one of the rising stars in the Northeast. Boston Celtics star and MVP candidate Jayson Tatum posted a picture on social media of a personalized jersey from Brady.

The framed jersey had a special message just for the four-time NBA All-Star. Brady's signature took up one side of the jersey while the message was written on the other.

"Jayson, LFG.  I love watching you play! Good luck."

While this was meant to be a special item for Tatum, it ended up coming at a poor time with the Celtics in the middle of postseason struggles. With Tatum revealing the jersey prior to a crucial game five, you could even call Brady's gift somewhat of a jinx.

Boston laid an egg at home during a must-win contest on Tuesday night as Philadelphia took a 3-2 lead in the series. Tatum started out 0/6 as the Celtics trailed 33-26 at the end of the first quarter. Though he finished with 36 points and ten rebounds, he was a team-worst -26 and only connected on 11/27 of his attempts (3/11 3PT).

Tatum is only shooting 45.5% from the field and 30.6% from deep against Philadelphia. Tuesday marked the second game where he's gotten off to a rough start as Tatum started 0-8 in Boston's one-point loss on Saturday.

The Celtics have an opportunity to keep their season alive and force a game seven on Thursday night.
