Quarterback Baker Mayfield is taking the first start of preseason for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ball control will be Mayfield's best friend as he puts together a resume to win the starting quarterback spot. 

While the Buccaneers deferred to the run-game early on, pass plays began to be called more and more. Through three drives and a few impressive throws, Mayfield cashed in his first touchdown in a Buccaneers jersey.

Mayfield found wide receiver Trey Palmer on a clean pass to the backside of the end zone on 3rd & 6 for the touchdown.

Mayfield's ability to evade the pocket while remaining sound and throwing clean passes has been a positive sign for the 28-year-old thus far. The key for the rest of the game for Mayfield will be to continue to protect the ball and making conservative reads.
