Andy Reid Vouches for Cardinals Coaching Candidate Mike Kafka

Super Bowl champion Andy Reid is well aware of what Mike Kafka can do, and he believes the Arizona Cardinals would benefit from his presence.
In this story:

PHOENIX -- Water is wet, the sky is blue, and the Arizona Cardinals have yet to find a new head coach.

We're approaching nearly a month since the team sent Kliff Kingsbury packing for Thailand, and owner Michael Bidwill hasn't selected his replacement.

Sean Payton, DeMeco Ryans and Frank Reich all slipped out of his grasp. Dan Quinn backed out after his second interview to return to Dallas and Brian Flores recently informed Arizona he was withdrawing his name from the race to head to Minnesota to be their defensive coordinator.

Arizona has narrowed down their candidacy to two names (barring any interviews with either Philadelphia Eagles coordinator, which would have to take place after the Super Bowl): Cincinnati Bengals DC Lou Anarumo and New York Giants OC Mike Kafka.

When it comes to the opinion of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, it's no surprise he's siding with the former quarterbacks coach that helped Patrick Mahomes get to the levels he's reached now.

"He is very intelligent, great human being," Reid said of Kafka on Tuesday (via Newsday).

"The quarterback [Kyler Murray] will love him. He'll challenge him to be better than he even is now. But he'll do a great job and challenge the team. The guys will respond.

"I think he'd be tremendous."

Reid also said he spoke with Bidwill in what can only be assumed as a personal endorsement.

Kafka joined the New York Giants this past season and helped turn the squad into a team that was able to win a playoff game, far from the depths of 4-13 they were in 2021.

Giants QB Daniel Jones hit career highs in every major passing category aside from touchdown passes (15 compared to his rookie season total of 24).

There's hope that any candidate chosen can help push Murray to the next level. Kafka just might be that guy, and he has one of the game's most respected offensive minds backing him.
