Kyler Murray Continues to Take Shots From Media
PHOENIX -- Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray hasn't played in an actual football game since tearing his ACL/meniscus in Week 14.
His social media - other than defending himself against comments from Patrick Peterson and updating his millions of followers on surgery - has been fairly quiet.
Yet Murray continues to find himself in headlines despite neither him nor the team participating in Super Bowl LVII.
Earlier during the Senior Bowl, Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline reported that potential head coach candidates for the Cardinals have avoided the team:
"Why is the Arizona Cardinals head coach job taking so long to fill? If you are to believe what people in Mobile are saying, it’s due to Kyler Murray — and it’s not because the quarterback has a large say in the matter," said Pauline.
"Rather, many of the desired candidates don’t want to take the job knowing they’ll be tied to the hip of Murray for the next four seasons. Murray signed a five-year, $230 million contract in late August, and anyone who takes the Cardinals job will have no options in the foreseeable future at quarterback."
Yesterday, Dan Patrick went on a nice little back and forth with J.J. Watt on Murray and questioned a large part of the quarterback's mentality and ability.
That was shortly followed by four-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Terry Bradshaw saying that Sean Payton passed on Arizona due to Murray's presence.
Today, Sports Illustrated's NFL insider Albert Breer suggested that Murray, "hasn't been the guy to set the tone for the organization," among other statements.
It's already a long offseason for Murray.
