How Cardinals QB Kyler Murray Inspired Devin Booker's Pass in Suns Playoff Win
PHOENIX -- It's been a great couple weeks here in the Valley, especially for fans of both the Arizona Cardinals and Phoenix Suns.
The Suns are currently in the midst of a playoff run and hope to grab their first franchise championship. The Cardinals - a few steps behind their basketball counterparts - are fresh off a superb NFL draft.
Support for other local teams is fairly common, so perhaps it wasn't a surprise to see Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and receiver Marquise Brown sitting courtside during Phoenix's 129-124 victory in Game 4.
Suns shooting guard Devin Booker was able to show off his passing skills in front of Murray at the end of the first quarter, heaving a pass to Kevin Durant to eventually convert the jumper and send the Suns into the next quarter with momentum.
After the game, Booker was asked if he saw Murray courtside.
"I did, I seen him postgame," said Booker, who was then asked if that's why he drew the play up.
"Yeah, that's what I told him. I said, 'I know you seen that.'
Booker also mentioned he was a quarterback growing up, so perhaps we haven't seen the last of his arm strength being put on display.
There's hope that we haven't seen the last of playoff basketball in the Valley, either. The Suns were able to level their second-round series against the Denver Nuggets at 2-2. Game 6 is set to be back at the Footprint Center on Thursday, May 11.
