Former Cardinals DC Vance Joseph Continues Talks With Eagles
Former Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is set to interview with the Philadelphia Eagles for a second day today following a meeting that stretched "most of the morning" with the team on Tuesday, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
As Rapoport alludes to, Joseph is also a name to watch for the Denver Broncos' open position.
There was some initial speculation that Joseph - who ran Arizona's defense since 2019 - would replace Kliff Kingsbury after his dismissal. Joseph was well respected by his players and fielded previous head coaching experience.
He notched an interview with the Cardinals and was considered a co-favorite with Brian Flores at one point in time before the dust settled and eventually Jonathan Gannon was named the head coach.
There was also some speculation that Gannon would have retained Joseph on his staff, as Gannon told reporters in an exclusive group interview after his press conference that the two were set to meet later.
Later that day, it was reported that the Cardinals were letting Joseph out of his contract.
Joseph was immediately thought to be a candidate for both open DC jobs in Denver/Philadelphia. Now, it looks like there's some serious interest from both sides.
