Which Teams are Calling Cardinals for No. 3 Pick?

The Arizona Cardinals have quite the attention for the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, and at six teams are reportedly calling to move up according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
In this story:

As we approach the 2023 NFL Draft, information about what will transpire on draft night will start to increase by the minute. Whether that info is true or not is up for people such as you and I to sort through.

The Arizona Cardinals are sorting through their options with the third overall pick, but they're most likely to capitalize on a heavy quarterback market and trade down to acquire more ammo for the future.

By all accounts, the Cardinals have played it cool in press conferences by stating they'll be prepared to take somebody at No. 3 - and as they should. If truly disastrous offers are piling up on the phone, Will Anderson would look mighty fine in Cardinal red.

But Arizona is all in on moving down - at least that's what a source told All Cardinals during the league meeting a few weeks ago.

ESPN's Adam Schefter says the team is still "mulling" dealing the No. 3 pick while saying "at least six teams" have called Arizona for their pick, presumably to move up and draft Anthony Richardson or Will Levis.

So, who are those six teams? Let's play the guessing game.

Which Teams are Calling Cardinals for No. 3 Pick?

The Current Favorite

Tennessee Titans (No. 11)

If there was any public "favorite" in the clubhouse to acquire the pick, recent reports may suggest that's Tennessee. The Titans took a flier on Malik Willis and obviously weren't impressed. With division rivals Houston and Indianapolis figuring to get their hands on a rookie quarterback, perhaps Tennessee feels like they can't fall behind.

The Cardinals could get quite the haul for moving down past the top ten, and GM Monti Ossenfort's relationship with his former team makes the Titans a notable destination that makes sense for both sides.

Very Strong Spots

Indianapolis Colts (No. 4)

This scenario has been described as a best-case scenario for Cardinals fans who desperately want Will Anderson, as collecting extra draft capital to move down one spot and still take who many believe to be the best defensive prospect in the class would be a win-win in many books.

The Colts appear to be done with their "find an older free agent QB and figure out the rest" strategy. With new offensive mind Shane Steichen now in Indianapolis, the Colts would love to make a deal and get their guy for the future.

Atlanta Falcons (No. 8)

The two teams ahead of Atlanta (Detroit and Las Vegas) don't really make a ton of sense, but it's surprising we haven't heard much about the Falcons wanting to make a move to No. 3.

Atlanta seems unsold on Desmond Ridder, and with the team publicly positioning themselves away from Lamar Jackson, making a move for somebody like Anthony Richardson makes sense.

Keep an Eye on

Seattle Seahawks (No. 5)

Business with a division rival isn't always at the top of the list, but the Cardinals may still be looking to remain in the top five, and Seattle has openly done work on quarterbacks heading into the draft. If you're Arizona, you have to ask yourself if you're willing to give Seattle the keys to a potential franchise quarterback for the next decade. Often times that answer is no, but we've seen crazier deals happen in the past.

Unlikely, But Still Possible

Detroit Lions (No. 6)

The Lions seem pretty intent on sticking their ground and letting a top defensive prospect fall their way, but the need for a passer past Jared Goff is something the organization will have to evaluate at some point. That could likely come next year, as it's hard to see the Lions moving up in 2023.

Las Vegas Raiders (No. 7)

Jimmy Garoppolo is a Las Vegas Raider, but that hasn't stopped some public perception on the Raiders wanting to make a move up. However, sources familiar with Las Vegas tell All Cardinals the team is actually looking to move back, rather than up.

Other QB Needy Teams, Because You Never Know

-New York Jets (No. 13) if the Aaron Rodgers trade falls through

-New England Patriots (No. 14) since Mac Jones is reportedly being shopped

-Tampa Bay Buccaneers (No. 19) is TB is really willing to give up their entire slate of top picks after losing Tom Brady

Plenty of teams are interested, but we'll see who the real winner is come draft day.
