Cardinals Land New TE Coach, Per Report
The Arizona Cardinals continue to add to their coaching staff, and Wednesday morning brought news of a new tight ends coach.
NFL Media's Tom Pelissero is reporting the Cardinals are hiring Ben Steele as their new tight ends coach. He is set to replace Steve Heiden, who moved to take the same role with the Detroit Lions.
Steele (44-years-old) got his start in the league with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2014 as their offensive quality control coach. In 2017 he received a promotion to coach tight ends before moving to the Atlanta Falcons in 2019.
The previous two seasons - spent with the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos - is where he coached offensive line.
With Steele's addition, Arizona's coaching staff is as follows:
Head Coach: Jonathan Gannon
Offensive Coordinator: Drew Petzing
- OL Coach Klayton Adams
- WR or Passing Game Coordinator Drew Terrell
- QB Coach Israel Woolfork
-TE Coach Ben Steele
Defensive Coordinator: Nick Rallis
-Defensive assistant Patrick Toney
Special Teams Coordinator: Jeff Rodgers
The Cardinals are scheduled to have their coordinators speak through the next couple days after Gannon was introduced last week.
