Cardinals Sign Versatile OL Elijah Wilkinson
The Arizona Cardinals added more offensive line depth with the arrival of OT Elijah Wilkinson, per the league's transaction wire. The move has yet to officially be announced by the team.
He also visited with the Dallas Cowboys before signing with Arizona.
Wilkinson first entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos in 2017. He played there through 2020 before joining the Chicago Bears and most recently the Atlanta Falcons.
He started nine games last year and has 36 total career starts in 67 games played.
The Cardinals brought back starting offensive linemen Kelvin Beachum and Will Hernandez. Center Rodney Hudson is expected to hit retirement and LT D.J. Humphries is still on the roster.
Arizona also signed Dennis Daley and Hjalte Froholdt before losing Cody Ford and Josh Miles.
For the most part, the Cardinals have been fairly quiet in free agency. Arizona head coach Jonathan Gannon said he's been pleased with how things have unfolded.
"You don't win any games in free agency, I know that," he told reporters at the league's annual meeting.
"So I feel really good about the pieces that we added. We had a very clear vision of why we added them. We know why they know why they're coming here, which is huge to me. They know their role and what we're going to ask them to do and how we're going to ask them to fit in. I'm excited to get to work with those guys."
The Cardinals are set to begin the first of their offseason team activities next week.
