Major Network Targeting J.J. Watt for Broadcast Booth

NBC Sports is reportedly hoping to land the vocal talents of J.J. Watt.

The talents of former Arizona Cardinals DE J.J. Watt were seen by millions of people throughout his Hall of Fame career. Whether he was with the Houston Texans or here in Arizona, Watt left his mark on the game of football that will soon see him go down in football immortality when the first opportunity comes.

Watt is a fairly charismatic fellow, which bodes well for a potential career in broadcasting when combined with his overall knowledge and modern understanding of the professional game.

Awful Announcing is reporting that NBC Sports is hoping to land Watt on their broadcast team.

"Who will be joining Perry and Taylor is still in flux, but NBC is hoping to land Big Ten legend J.J. Watt. The future Hall of Famer is an obvious fit having played at Wisconsin and would likely have a significant role on Sunday Night Football as well. However, Watt is being courted by multiple networks and thus might not ultimately land at NBC," said the report.

Watt recently purchased a stake of ownership in Burnley Football Club in the English Premier League (well, they're getting promoted next season) and still has his infant son to take care of, who was born in October of 2022.

When appearing on the Pardon My Take podcast earlier this week, Watt said he would like to make an attempt at joining the booth.

“I would like to at least give it a shot, I want to be around the game. I love the game too much," said Watt.

"I want to be around the game. I want to be a part of it and I do feel like I have knowledge and experience that can help enhance viewers’ experience and talk about things that they might not see or things that I’ve learned over the years.”

Whether it's NBC or elsewhere, Watt figures to be a hit wherever he'll be holding a microphone.
