Video: New Cardinals Coach Jonathan Gannon Embraces Kyler Murray

The Arizona Cardinals' newest head coach in Jonathan Gannon was able to meet up with quarterback Kyler Murray after his hire.
In this story:

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Cardinals have their new head coach in Jonathan Gannon, and he's pretty fired up to be in the desert.

"What's up Bird Gang? Jonathan Gannon, your new head coach, Arizona Cardinals. Ready to get to work. Buckle up. We're gonna have some fun - see you soon," said Gannon in a short video to fans

The Cardinals kept Gannon in town after his Philadelphia Eagles lost Super Bowl LVII and interviewed him for two days prior to crowning him over other candidates such as Mike Kafka and Lou Anarumo.

Arizona - now moving on from Kliff Kingsbury - hopes to turn the tide of their 4-13 season. Part of that will be the shift in culture Gannon hopes to bring, while another part will be the recovery of quarterback Kyler Murray, who tore his ACL/meniscus in Week 14 of the 2022 season.

Murray was in the team facility at Tempe rehabbing and Gannon was able to meet up with him after being hired:

It sounds as if one of the Cardinals' media relations staffers pointed out that Murray was in the weight room, which was followed by Gannon immediately turning the other direction and heading that way.

"Let's go win," said Gannon in the exchange.

The Cardinals hope there's plenty of that happening sooner rather than later.
