Chargers Meeting with Top-Heavy LB Ahead of 2023 Draft
The Los Angeles Chargers are doing all they can to improve their roster, and one way they'll do that is by the draft. The Chargers have seven draft picks in the 2023 draft, and it still remains a mystery who they'll take with their first pick. They have the 21st overall pick, but those other six picks are just as important and could change the franchise for the best.
Like every other team, the Bolts have multiple options, and their choice goes beyond the football field. It's essential to meet with potential players before the draft to get a feel for the type of person that'll represent your franchise, and your Bolts will do just that with the Florida Gators linebacker Ventrell Miller.
Sources say your Bolts and two other teams will meet with the 24 -year-old.
Miller spent six seasons with the Gators, being redshirted his entire time there. In his final season, he had 34 solo tackles, 70 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and 8.5 yards of tackles for loss. Miller was suspended and away from the team his freshman year but came back and redshirted his first year. He played in all 13 games as a reserve linebacker and special teams player. After that, he became the starting linebacker for most of his time as a Gator.
The Chargers lost their starting linebacker Drue Tranquill to the Cheifs and picked up All-Pro linebacker Eric Kendricks. Kendricks is 31 years old and currently has no real backup behind Kendricks. Miller is excellent against the run, a crafty edge player, and a tough and violent tackler with a high motor.
NFL draft buzz has the Gator linebacker going in the fifth round and as the 18th-best linebacker in the class. We'll see what the Chargers do with their picks and if they pick him up if available.
