Chargers News: Justin Herbert Keeps Glove On Injured Finger At Tuesday Practice

Not ideal.

Los Angeles Chargers Pro Bowl quarterback Justin Herbert continues to be bothered by a pesky injury to his non-throwing hand.

Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, the 25-year-old's left hand was encased in a glove during a team practice today, though he did warm up with his fellow signal callers in anticipation of putting in reps.

The 6'6" Oregon product fractured a finger and injured a nail on his left hand during LA's 24-17 Week 4 win over the Las Vegas Raiders before getting a bye this past weekend to recuperate.

The 2-2 Chargers are prepping for a potential make-or-break matchup against America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys, this coming Monday.

In the victory over Vegas, Herbert had to miss some time as he had his left hand examined near the top of the second half. He passed for a season-low 167 yards (completing 13-of-24 attempts) and one touchdown, while being intercepted once and sacked twice. He notched a season-worst quarterback rating of 41.7.

This season thus far, Herbert has amassed 1,106 passing yards and seven touchdowns (against just one interception) and recorded the seventh-best quarterback rating in the NFL (69.5).

Here's hoping he'll be able to take the field next week in an absolutely critical contest. If not, understudy Easton Stick will need to step up in a big way.
