The beauty of OTA's and really any organized practices that NFL squads hold before training camp officially gets rolling is that the front office and coaching staff get to see late round draft picks grind their way into a role.

No matter if a player gets selected in the first or last round, their dream still comes true and one can even make an argument that the guy chosen later can perform better due to less attention on him. The Los Angeles Chargers have loved what they've seen from most of their incoming rookies and Quentin Johnston has already received praise from numerous veteran teammates.

However, it was great for fans to see the Bolts make a move for a young cornerback once the sixth round rolled around back in 2022. J.C. Jackson is in the midst of making his return to the team and they have some other serviceable options but Ja'Sir Taylor put together an excellent rookie campaign and came up huge in some close games.

Eric Smith, senior writer for the Chargers, has been able to see a number of Bolts players get comfortable in OTA's recently and show their improvement heading into the summer.

Taylor is someone that has been catching his eye as of late and has been pushing all of his teammates to get better, even the stars.

"The defensive standout of the day was Ja'Sir Taylor, who notched a trio of pass breakups in 7-on-7 drills. The second-year cornerback began his strong showing on the second rep on team drills, knocking away a deep Herbert pass attempt for Allen down the left sideline."

This is exactly what we want to see from every man on the roster!
