Chargers Expert Keys in on LA's Week 6 Match as Defensive Nightmare
The Los Angeles Chargers can take their preseason planning and preparation to a whole new level now that the 2023 NFL schedule has now been released to the public. Obviously, they would like to win as many games as possible but some will be more important to key in on than others.
Immediately, fans have been looking ahead to the two showdowns they have set against the Kansas City Chiefs because the AFC West currently belongs to them until further notice. But we are well-aware that those games will be full of offense and whoever scores the most touchdowns will come out victorious just like years prior.
Daniel Popper of The Athletic has taken a deep-dive into the complete slate of games that LA will be taking part in and has pinpointed some of the most important ones.
Above all else, the Bolts will be facing off against the Dallas Cowboys on October 16th right after their bye week and Popper believes that this is a must-watch game. He also predicts that their defense will be the hardest that LA has to take on all season.
"The Chargers will have to face a number of really good offenses this coming season. They will also have to face a number of really good defenses. That is the nature of their 2023 schedule. It is going to be a grind with the quality of teams on the slate. The Cowboys have put together back-to-back impressive defensive seasons under coordinator Dan Quinn, finishing No. 2 in DVOA both seasons."

"And Jerry Jones and Mike McCarthy continued investing in that side of the ball this offseason, trading for cornerback
Stephon Gilmore
and spending two top-100 picks on first-round defensive tackle
Mazi Smith
and third-round linebacker DeMarvion Overshwon."

Beyond just the defensive side of the ball, it will also be very interesting to see how Dallas' offense holds up now that the Chargers have stolen Kellen Moore from them.
This season cannot start fast enough!
