Chargers Hire Jim Harbaugh as Next Head Coach

Jim Harbaugh to the Chargers is a done deal.

After weeks of speculation and rumors, the Los Angeles Chargers have landed their next head coach in Michigan's Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh has long flirted with the idea of making his NFL return, and it has finally happened.

The Chargers are an organization that has similarities to the San Francisco 49ers in 2010, which were a bit of an underachieving mess. Once Harbaugh arrived on the scene in 2011, he transformed them into an NFL powerhouse.

The Niners would post a 13-3 (2011), 11-4-1 (2012), 12-4 (2013) and 8-8 (2014) record with Harbaugh at the helm. Sadly, he would be defeated by his brother at Super Bowl XLVII.

Harbaugh has been longing to right the wrong of his missing out on a championship and he can do so with the Chargers and Justin Herbert. Herbert is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league, and Harbaugh certainly has the coaching prowess to bring the most out of him.

It will be interesting to see who will be joining Harbaugh on his staff, but we reported on the rumor that he would be bringing over Michigan DC Jesse Minter and his son Jay.

New York Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown is also in the building, so it could be we will see an update on the GM position quite soon as well.

We will update everyone on who joins Harbaugh and this new era of the Chargers organization.
