Chargers News: Austin Ekeler Back in Action for Bolts Practice
As the Los Angeles Chargers prepare for their matchup with the Dallas Cowboys this week, they may be getting a big piece back to their offense. Running back Austin Ekeler has missed the last few weeks due to injury, but he practiced with the team on Tuesday.
If Ekeler is able to go on Monday against Dallas, it would give the Bolts a significant boost. Their running game has trended way downhill since he went out, and they will need it to be effective against the Cowboys.
The Bolts haven't been able to run the ball without Ekeler constantly, so his presence will be welcomed.
The Cowboys defense is very good at creating pressure in the backfield with their strong edge rushers, so it will be imperative that the Bolts get the running game going. It would help set up the passing attack, and the Chargers can't afford to become one-dimensional.
As they get set for Dallas, the Chargers can take some lessons from the early part of their season. They know they can't keep losing games if they want to remain in the playoff hunt, and this is a chance to get over the .500 mark.
In addition to Ekeler, the Bolts may be getting some other vital pieces back, like star safety Derwin James. He would be helpful in this matchup against a Cowboys offense that likes to take deep shots down the field throughout games.
This will be a big game for this team, and it looks like reinforcements are on their way.
