Chargers star running back Austin Ekeler will be a Charger in 2023. We should thank our lucky stars that the team didn't pull the trigger after he requested a trade back in March.

There was no bad blood between the two sides, as they resolved their issues (kind of), and he is now ready to take on. the 2023 season.

Ekeler is going to play a significant role once again in 2023 alongside side his quarterback Justin Herbert. Herbert and Ekeler have formed into one of the top QB-RB duos in the league, and they plan to become the best this season.

The 28-year-old running back plans to duplicate his past two seasons, and he will get the help of Herbert, who he believes will only get better as he progresses in his career.

“He continues to get better, continues to learn the game, continues to understand and become more of that offensive [guy who says], ‘Hey I run this,’ that we need. And I’m really looking forward to coming in. I think it’s Year Four for him. So the kid’s growing up. It’s crazy.”

Herbert has all the tools to become one of the greatest quarterbacks of this generation.

There is no doubting his raw talent and how he leads the team, but in order to take his game to the next level, he must win and win in the postseason. That's how you're judged as a quarterback, and Herbert is no exception.

He is determined to showcase that in his fourth season, and Ekeler believes he will get it done.

“As an individual, he’s already super motivated, wants to do the best, but now there’s more on [his plate],”

“So, it continues to solidify how you want to continue to impress and move forward and progress. I know he’s going to be locked in even more than he ever has — just like he is every single year.

The time is now for Herbert to take his game to the next level. He certainly doesn't lack the weapons, so all eyes will be on him to get the job done.
