One of the biggest questions that surrounded the Los Angeles Chargers entering the new NFL season was whether or not head coach Brandon Staley had learned from his previous mistakes. Since taking over the Bolts, Staley has seemed in over his head at times, and it has cost the Bolts on numerous occasions.

Staley knows the game of football, but his decision-making has been shaky at best. He consistently puts his team into bad situations due to his aggressive play style, and the hope was that he had learned to pick and choose when to do this.

But through three weeks of the season, it seems that Staley hasn’t learned, and the Chargers continue to struggle within different game situations. They started the year 0-2 and almost dropped to 0-3 this past weekend because of a decision by Staley.

Luckily for the Bolts, the defense saved them, but that won’t always be the case. The Bolts went for a 4th and one deep in their own territory late in their game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Minnesota quarterback Kirk Cousins went on to throw an interception that sealed the win for the Bolts, but the win once again showed that Staley continue to make the same mistakes.

This led to multiple members of the media bashing his decision-making, including long-time analyst Bill Simmons. He took to social media to express his feelings about the decision-making of Staley.

Simmons isn’t the only one to question Staley, and he entered the year on the hot seat. Through three games of the season, Staley has done nothing to help his case, and if the Chargers continue to lose games, he likely will be out of a job.

This type of situational football has come back to bite the Chargers time and time again. Luckily it didn’t on Sunday, but next time they may not be so lucky.
