The storyline of all storylines for the Los Angeles Chargers this offseason has been the potential hire of the University of Michigan's National Championship-winning head coach Jim Harbaugh.

The Bolts are the frontrunners, and have become the first team to complete an interview with the former 49ers coach and Bolts quarterback.

Harbaugh would come to the Bolts with countless years head coaching experience, finding success at both the college and professional levels. He turned a 5-7 Michigan team around immediately, with the club winning 10 games the following season and making the College Football Playoff twice prior to winning the National Championship this past season.

Before Michigan, Harbaugh was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, turning the team around from 6-10 to 13-3 in his first season, with the club making the NFC Championship Game, at minimum, for 3 straight seasons prior to an injury-riddled 2014 and Harbaugh's ensuing departure.

Having spent time turning teams around at both the college and the NFL level, along with his exposure to big games and learning what truly moves the needle from a good team to a great one, there may not be a better head coaching candidate in any coaching cycle for the foreseeable future.

As it pertains to finding someone who can truly elevate the Bolts into Super Bowl contenders on a yearly basis, Harbaugh is likely the answer. It's up to Spanos and co., as well as the Bolts' new general manager to seal the deal on what could be an all-time great hire.
