Chargers News: Bolts Insider Hails Addition of Kellen Moore as LA's Top Offseason Move
The NFL offseason is a time for teams to improve from top to bottom. All 32 teams made adjustments, whether that's to compete in the 2023 season or make moves to position themselves for a better 2024 season.
Regardless every team made moves, and your Los Angeles Chargers made moves for the better. LA had a really solid offseason, and they will look to build off that starting in training camp. The Bolts made all the necessary and realistic moves to be a threat this upcoming season, including moves made in the coaching department.
The Chargers arguably made the best move on the coaching side of things when they hired former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as their new offensive coordinator. Everyone loved that hire, including Chargers insider Daniel Popper, who took it a step further and called the addition of Moore as the best offseason move the Bolts accomplished.
The Chargers want a more consistent run game and more explosive plays overall. They are confident Moore can achieve both of those things, and there is reason to believe he will elevate Herbert and this offense to new heights.

Moore will undoubtedly take his franchise quarterback Justin Herbert and the offense to new heights.
It was vital for LA to go in a different direction after how the 2022 season ended but also how the offense looked throughout the season. Herbert (outside of the injuries) didn't look right, and yes, you can point that to injuries, but that overall offense lacked some firepower. The firing of Joe Lombardi was necessary, and the team knew they needed to go in a more explosive direction, and they did just that.
We can't wait to see where he can take this offense, and if it all comes together, we could be looking at Herbert and his offensive weapons in the running for some major hardware.
