Chargers News: Bolts May Have To Reckon With Justin Herbert's Finger Fracture

Certainly will be something to watch going forward.

The Chargers got a collective sigh of relief when they found out that quarterback Justin Herbert's finger injury wasn't overly serious. He suffered the injury in their last game against the Las Vegas Raiders and has been dealing with the pain since.

It's something that he is going to have to play through for this Bolts team to get anywhere this season. However, head coach Brandon Staley isn't too worried about the injury.

“He’s a player out there, and he is going to do what is best for himself,” coach Brandon Staley said. “He is going to continue to be aggressive. It’s a much different injury than the one that he had last year.”

However, Herbert has yet to take a snap from under center, which could cause some issues. A quarterback only gets a few seconds to snap the ball before the defense rushes at them, so this will be something to watch moving forward.

The Chargers star spoke on this recently and gave his thoughts on the matter.

“I think that’s one of those things that you don’t really want to put your hand in danger,” he said. “It’s something that we’ll probably approach later in the week.”

This injury may not affect Herbert throwing the ball, but it will be something to monitor as the game progresses. It will also be something to watch for as the season progresses. If Herbert gets hit anywhere on his hand, it could cause more issues to pop up.

The Bolts hope that the biggest concerns with this injury are behind them and that they can look ahead with clear eyes. They know what is at stake the rest of the way, and they'll need their highly-paid quarterback to be as ready to go as possible.
