Chargers News: Brandon Staley Gets Vote Of Confidence From Pro Bowl Bolts Defender
Entering the NFL season, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley was on the hot seat for his job. The team was coming off an embarrassing loss in the postseason, and many called for him to be fired during the offseason.
But management decided to give him another chance, but so far, the seat has only gotten warmed as the weeks have gone by. But Bolt's star defensive edge praised Staley amid all the calls for his job recently.
“We know who he is,” veteran edge rusher Khalil Mack said. “We know his leadership and his capabilities and all those different things. It’s just up to us, as the players, to step in and win these close games.”

This isn't the first time that players have expressed confidence in Staley, but the job just isn't getting done. He may be loved by the guys in the locker room, but the Bolts may have to cut ties if the losing continues.
It has been a few years of underperforming by Staley as the head coach of the Chargers, and they have fallen further behind this season. If the team really wants to save his job, they could start with getting a massive win this weekend over the Baltimore Ravens.
“They on you when you’re hot. But they want you fired when you’re not,” Mack said. “It’s one of those things where you can’t focus on the outside noise. You can only control what you can control … and that’s getting ready for the Ravens.”

Getting a win over the Ravens could save the Chargers' season, and thus Staley's job. But another loss would likely see them fall out of playoff contention entirely, and the team may be forced to make some changes.
This weekend will show us a lot about what the Chargers are made of after two straight frustrating games. Their season is on the line, and it's time to put their game where their mouths are.
