The Arizona Cardinals made some noise a couple of weeks ago when they announced they released star wide receiver, DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins has been widely regarded as one of the top WR in the league, and now he has the option to choose any team he wants.

He remains one of the top free agents in the league at the moment, and many teams would love his presence, including your Los Angeles Chargers. However, according to ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler, we could wait sometime before he chooses a team.

"DeAndre Hopkins, I'm told, is sorting out potential free-agency visits that he could take in the coming days. He's not overly rushed here, though. I was told that basically minicamp is a soft deadline, training camp in late July more of a hard deadline. And so, he's looking at the entire league. This is not a situation where he's only looking to play with certain quarterbacks, or a short list. He's pretty open-minded here is what shakes down."

Jeremy Fowler, Bleacher Report

The 31-year-old appeared on the I Am Athlete podcast and expressed how he'd love to play with our star QB Justin Herbert. Herbert can make anyone look good, but with Hopkins, they would make each other look good. All things considered, the Chargers' wide receiver room is full, and it may not be a realistic option, but we'll see how things play out there.

Most teams' training camps start between July 23-26, so it'll be some time before we find out where Hopkins lands.

The 2013 first-round draft pick is one of the game's best and most accomplished receivers. Throughout his 10-year career, he's a three-time first-team All-Pro, five-time Pro Bowler, 2017 NFL receiving TD leader, and has 71 receiving touchdowns.

There is no doubt Hopkins would elevate the Chargers' offense to new heights.
