Chargers News: Former All-Pro and NFL Analyst Predicts LA as AFC Darkhorse

Could the Chargers shock the world this season?

Will we witness the same ole Chargers in 2023 or more of the same from this team? That is the question, as we are less than six days away from the start of the new year.

I mean, things should be different, right? They locked up their man at quarterback, they're getting healthy on both sides of the ball, Austin Ekeler is back, and they have new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore running things on that side of the ball. Still, it will take a lot more than talent in a loaded AFC to put them over the top.

We shall wait and see, but since everyone is aiming for predictions this time of year, NFL game analyst and former All-Pro wide receiver Cris Collinsworth chimed in. Collinsworth appeared on the Rich Eisen show and said that he believes the Chargers are the dark horses in the AFC.

"I think we have to think in terms of what the Chargers could be. I do this every year. I just keep on looking at this franchise and going, 'What is it that you don't feel good about?' At least on the offensive side of things, and now you think in Kellen Moore. Moore is going to be one of the most talked-about guys in the league this year. They have some real good players on that offense; they should be dynamic."

Either people are all in on the Chargers or not buying what they're selling.

It's either one of those when discussing the Chargers, but it seems like Collinsowrth is buying into the Bolts. All the pieces are intact for the Chargers; now they need to do what they've failed to do throughout their history: deliver.

Can the Chargers deliver? QB Justin Herbert seems to be that guy, and if he wasn't before, he is now with his new gigantic contract. It is on (mainly) to carry LA on his board shoulders and lead them to the promise land. LA will be scary if he can live up to those expectations.
