Justin Herbert and Kellen Moore's Evolving Football Partnership
The new-look Chargers are set to take the field 10 days from now, and Charger fans are eager to see how they'll look in 2023. Although no drastic changes were made this past offseason, some necessary changes were made, including bringing in offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.
Moore has brought new life to the offense and is set to take them to the top alongside his star quarterback, Justin Herbert. The dreams many Charger fans have had of Herbert and Moore dominating that side of the ball are almost a reality. These two are sure to set the league on fire, but they need to get on the same page before all that. It may be all sunshine and rainbows to start off, but how will they fare when the going gets tough?
Chemistry and communication are essential not only among players but also with the players and coaches. Herbert understands that, which is why his relationship with Moore is only growing.
“Kellen has been very flexible,” Herbert said of the new partnership. “We've talked about what we like and what we don't like and all of the things that we wish to incorporate from last year's offense and how we want to get the guys the ball. Everyone has been on the same page so far and I think that has been the most important part -- getting the running backs in tune with the protections, getting the receivers in tune with what we want timing-wise with the routes.”

On paper, the offense should be able to score 30 points per game, but talent alone doesn't win in this league; the Chargers know that firsthand.
Moore, Herbert, and the rest of the offense must be on the same page to reach their capabilities. Sometimes, it may not look pretty, but with constant communication and constructive criticism, LA should be just fine.
Herbert is going as a leader, Moore is just getting started, and the weapons are ready to make themselves and the offense look good. All systems look a go; we'll see if they're ready to lift off soon.
