Chargers News: How Michigan Could Pivot If Jim Harbaugh Leaves For Bolts
The Los Angeles Chargers are still looking for a head coach. As of Sunday, January 21st, the Bolts have interviewed 15 potential head coaches. However, for many Charger fans, there's only one coach on their mind: Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Harbaugh is likely to leave Michigan for the NFL, and there's a real shot he comes to Los Angeles to help the Bolts get over the top. If the Chargers were to land him, it would be a significant hire that could change the team's trajectory.
He will likely go to the NFL this upcoming season, leaving Michigan without a coach. So, what will be the next step for the Wolverines? According to the Athletic's Bruce Feldman, Michigan won't look too far to hire their next potential head coach.
“I think if you’re Michigan, you just have to be patient with it and know, ‘Hey if he does leave and we’ve got Sherrone Moore, who’s beaten Ohio State and been one at Penn State.’ The players revere him, and the people around inside the program revere him, and that would be a really good backup plan.”

The ideal choice for the Wolverines is Moore. Moore was the acting head coach for four games during the 2023 season as Harbaugh served a suspension for stealing opponents' play-calling signals.
Moore is 37 years old and could take the helm for the national champions and possibly the best college football head coach right now.
According to the New York Post, the Chargers are the front runners to land Harbaugh. They have the best odds to land him at -150 odds. Followed by not the head coach of an NFL team at +100, any other NFL team at +800, and the Las Vegas Raiders at +1200.
The odds are in LA's favor, so Michigan may need to look for his replacement soon.
