It's been very interesting to see how free agency has unfolded throughout the NFL these past couple of days. There's been some expected signings along with some surprises as there is any other year and we've seen a pretty set market for every position take form.

Your Los Angeles Chargers have been relatively quiet these past two days after making a handful of signings off the jump. Eric Kendricks agreed to come through, Donald Parham was brought back, and a roster is starting to finalize. However, LA still has some ground to cover and despite being heavily linked to John Johnson III, no contract has been agreed to just yet.

Johnson remains one of the bigger names on the market still after he got waived by the Cleveland Browns and Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has included him among the best options out there right now.

"Johnson, who was signed by the Browns in 2021, never became a top-tier safety in Cleveland, but he was a serviceable starter. He logged 101 tackles this past season and allowed an opposing passer rating of

82.8

in coverage."

With his experience and a full offseason to prepare, Johnson could contribute to a Chargers team that wants to take that next step. Their defensive line is already looking strong after they retained some productive pieces and at just 27-years-old, Johnson still has a lot of juice left in him.

Fans of the Chargers have been hearing the speculation all week and have been in full support of bringing Johnson in. They are growing a little impatient and want the front office to sign the dotted lines already.
