Through one week of the NFL season, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is looking the part of a top-tier quarterback again. While the team didn't get the victory in week one, Herbert showed out.

He threw for 229 yards and one touchdown in the opening game of the season against the Miami Dolphins. But he should continue improving as he gets more familiar with the new system under coordinator Kellen Moore.

Moore and Herbert are set to fly high through the league, but it could take a few weeks to really get themselves clicking fully.

Herbert is one of the best throwers of the football across the NFL due to his ability to sling the ball around all over the field. His arm talent made him one of the more highly anticipated draft picks in recent memory, and he has shown that he belongs as a starter in the league.

According to Fox Sports, Herbert is currently in a great spot to potentially win the NFL MVP this season after week one. He is currently tied for the third-best odds with Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence at +900 on the board.

These are great odds for Herbert; any fan should run with them. He is all set to put up really strong numbers this season, so this could be a steal right now.

The Chargers rewarded him with a massive contract this offseason, so the pressure is on him to succeed. He has plenty of weapons alongside him on the offensive side of the ball and should be lighting up opposing defenses for the rest of the season.

Herbert has great odds of finding success this season, and it's only a matter of time until he wins a major award. So why not this season? He is ready to take over, and the MVP could be his.
