NFL Insiders Gives Bold Prediction for Justin Herbert's Upcoming Season

Definitely not out of the realm of possibility.

As the NFL has evolved into more of a passing league than ever before, it's nonnegotiable that you need a great quarterback to win games at the professional level.

With one of the better signal callers in the league, the Bolts' own Justin Herbert has the highest of expectations for 2023, with one analyst announcing a bold claim about his upcoming season.

Bold prediction for 2023: Herbert will lead all non-Mahomes quarterbacks in QBR. Everything is there for him -- strong receivers, good pass protection and a new offensive coordinator in Kellen Moore. Herbert has had an amazing start to his career, but he'll take another step in 2023. -- Walder

Though his divisional counterpart, Patrick Mahomes, is pretty obviously the leader of the QB pack in the NFL, Herbert's own chase of the record books has been well documented by this point.

Without Rashawn Slater as one of the best blindside blockers in the league, Herbert's 2022 season was likely hampered by the absence of his protection on the line.

What also likely didn't help Herbert's production in the regular season last year was a rib injury he suffered in Week 2 against those same Kansas City Chiefs on the road.

In what was a far cry from his 2021 production, what was successful for Herbert was a new frontier of a playoff appearance, his first in his career clinched after the team beat the Colts in a late season Monday night game.

Though that outcome wasn't at all the one the team desired in heartbreaking fashion against the Jacksonville Jaguars, LA and Herbert has revenge on their mind for a better result in 2023.

Herbert has a chance in a new offense to do something special, and health permitting; the Chargers will go as far as he can take them.
