It seems as though Justin Herbert got a first sight of his Chargers' teammates in their mandatory minicamp this week and could not help but revert back to old ways. We saw numerous clips shared by the organization that showed Herbert throwing bullets and bombs to the likes of Keenan Allen, Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer.

Herbert is not too far removed from his shoulder surgery that he finally got this offseason but he assured that he was locked in everyday trying to cleared for on-field work as soon as possible. He is well-aware that LA's 2023 success will rest heavily on his shoulders starting in week one against the Miami Dolphins.

Setting The Tone Early

The 25-year-old former Oregon quarterback is a very simple guy and he has been leading by example for the past couple of months without even being at the practice facility. News headlines only feature Herbert's name when discussing his rank among the best players at his position and if he's attending a fishing tournament.

He knows that the Bolts organization is going to take care of him on the money side of things and he's not letting that get in the way of his ultimate goal: Leading the Chargers to some real playoff success.

And it appears that on top of some new throwing mechanics that he's been testing out during these early team workouts, he's also been approaching their plays with a high level of aggression.

The Athletic's Daniel Popper was able to get a first look.

"With Kellen Moore now coordinating the offense, it feels like Herbert is starting to show a willingness to push the ball downfield more often and take more risks. The back-shoulder throws to Williams and Allen, into tight coverage and small windows, are good examples."(Via The Athletic)

Playing at game speed is always a beautiful sight to see and we cannot wait for Herbert to be back at 110%
