Chargers News: Kellen Moore Embraces Challenge Posed by Titans Run Defense
The Los Angeles Chargers will be looking to improve on their strong running attack in week one, but they will have to do it without starting running back Austin Ekeler. He has been ruled out of the game due to injury.
The Chargers opponent for this weekend, the Tennesee Titans, is a well-coached team with a very strong front seven on defense. They will give the Bolts some issues up-front, so LA will need to be creative and mix things up throughout the games.
"That performance takes the Bolts right into the teeth of a defense has been perhaps the league's best at stopping the run in recent years. The Titans allowed the least rushing yards per game in 2022 (76.9) and the second-least in 2021 (84.6). Tennessee was stout again in Week 1 against the Saints by giving up just 69 yards on 27 carries."

Tennessee uses different schemes and stunts to throw off the opposing offense, so the Chargers may have their hands full. But LA does possess a potent offense that has the capability of fighting back against the Titans' defense.
New offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is embracing the opportunity to play a talented team like the Titans and praised them for all they do on defense.
"Obviously, they're one of the best. They've been one of the best for a long time," Moore said. "It's really, really challenging. They, obviously, have excellent personnel, they have excellent scheme."

Tennessee is coached by former linebacker Mike Vrabel, and he has established himself as one of the better coaches in the NFL. The Titans may not always have the most talent on the field, but Vrabel gets the most out of his guys and always has them prepared for a game.
"They're really, really sound. They don't give you anything easy," Moore added. "You're going to earn everything in this league. It's been a big challenge for us preparing for them."

If anything, the Titans will give it their all for the entire game, so the Bolts need to be ready. This is as close to a must-win as ever for this team, and they must come out with the victory.
