Last season, the Los Angeles Chargers' offense was uninteresting, lacked aggression, and was mostly dull. It was true no matter how strange and odd it was when you think about the types of weapons the Chargers have.

A change needed to be made which is why LA brought along Kellen Moore from the Dallas Cowboys. The Chargers didn't hesitate when he became available, and many considered it the best move LA made all off-season long.

The excitement and endless possibilities have crossed the thought of many Charger fans and pundits when it comes to thinking about how Moore could elevate the offesne. Now that training camp is underway, we no longer have to wonder, and the first many noticed was how he's utilizing star wide receiver Mike Williams

Willaims is coming off an underwhelming 2022 campaign compared to his 2021 season, in which he missed four games. Going into 2023, things seem to look promising for the Bolts' offense and Williams, as he will be moving around different spots all season long, according to Moore.

“People are going to have game plans and matchups associated with where he lines up,” Moore said of Williams earlier this week. “The more you can line him up in different spots, it just makes it more challenging for other teams to focus on him.”

Williams has thrived outside the numbers, and although it has worked, it's very predictable for opposing defenses.

Moore plans to move him around the line as much as possible to keep defenses on their toes, and head coach Brandon Staley loves the approach.

“We just know that’s going to be more challenging for people to defend,” Staley said of aligning Williams inside. “When you’re putting him in the slot versus a smaller guy, depending on what the coverage is, it’s not just Keenan who’s always there, and we can exploit mismatches the other way. Keenan’s kind of a mismatch for a lot of people in the slot. But when you can get Mike, who can give you that deep part of the field element or the body position element on slants, where he’s a power forward going against the point guard, we think that’s an advantage.”

The versatility of this offense is going to be through the roof. If Williams can be as productive in the slot as he is outside the numbers, the Chargers offense can be the best in the league.

Moore is already making an impact, and we can't wait till it translates on the field. Big things are coming, Charger fans!
