Chargers News: Khalil Mack Hilariously Responds to Chance He Could Eclipse 100 Sacks on Sunday
Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack is on the heels of another milestone. Mack has already established himself as one of the greatest defenders this decade and a future Hall of Famer. However, there is one achievement that Mack has yet to reach, and that is 100 sacks in his illustrious career.
At the moment, Mack sits at 99.5 sacks through 16 weeks. Week 17 against the Denver Broncos presents another opportunity for Mack to reach this grave milestone. The former Defensive Player of the Year has had three games to reach 100 and has yet to do so. He's in a bit of a slump in the category, and the reason is simple for Mack: it's all the reporter's fault, as he told Chargers senior writer Eric Smith.
"Y'all are messing it up for me," Mack said with a laugh. "Everybody was trying to talk with me before I got to the quarterback [for the 100th time]."

If the Chargers weren't so bad this season, Mack would be on the topic of Defensive Player of the Year. The 32-year-old is having his best season since his 2018 DPOY season. In 15 games, Mack is tied for a career-high in sacks with 15, 62 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 16 QB hits, eight passes defended, and five forced fumbles.
The seven-time Pro Bowler is playing out of his mind, and although he is in a mini-slump, there's no doubt he will reach 100 in one of these final two games. It's only a matter of time for the future Hall of Famer, and we're glad he'll do it in a Charger jersey.
