Chargers News: Khalil Mack Sacks Rookie Raiders QB 6 Times In Game 4 Win

It was a much-needed game for Mack here.

The Los Angeles Chargers escaped with another much-needed victory over the Las Vegas Raiders, but it didn't come easy. The Raiders fought until the end with their rookie quarterback, and the Chargers almost handed them the game after another poor decision by head coach Brandon Staley.

But the Bolts prevailed and now sit at 2-2 on the season. They won this game because of their defense, namely the edge rusher Khalil Mack. He had six sacks on the day against the Raiders, becoming only the fifth player in NFL history to do so.

Mack looked like his old self in this one, and this is precisely what the Bolts were hoping for when they traded for him. While he won't likely get six sacks each week, if Mack can play to this level, the Chargers defense could be in good shape.

This was a needed performance from Mack and the entire defensive unit for the Chargers. They had come under some scrutiny of late for their lackluster performances, but they stepped up in a big way against Las Vegas.

LA was missing some key starters in the game, but they should have still been able to put on a better showing.

Los Angeles now heads into their bye week feeling good about themselves, and they can use this game to build off. They have a tough next few games as they will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs after they return from the bye.

The Bolts must tighten things up if they want to keep their winning ways going; otherwise, they could find themselves looking up in the standings once again. They got the win, but it still wasn't very impressive, and the team still has many questions surrounding them.
