One of the biggest and most interesting debates in sports in my opinion is: Which professional athletes are the most versatile? To take it a little deeper, it is more of a question of which players would thrive in various leagues versus others.

There is an argument for many leagues such as the NBA, NFL, NHL, and so many others. Basketball and soccer players likely have the upper hand here in speed and endurance because they are constantly on the go versus a sport like baseball where, before the pitch clock, would have quite slow games at times.

However, I always find it amazing to hear when stars of today's sports world reveal that they could have gone professional in sports outside of the one in which they are currently playing. Both LeBron James and Allen Iverson are tow of the biggest NBA icons ever but were also household names in high school football. Former Charger Antonio Gates also famously played basketball in college.

Well it looks like a current Charger also believes they could thrive on the hardwood.

Derwin James is coming off of a 2022 campaign for LA that saw him record 115 combined tackles and four sacks as he played a key role in his squad making it to the playoffs for the first time in years.

Living in Los Angeles, it comes as no surprise that the 26-year-old defensive ace is a fan of the Lakers. But he took it one step further and revealed that if he wasn't playing for the Bolts, he'd be suiting up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis at Crypto.com Arena.

It's not the first time he's tried either.

I'm just glad that James is focused on being the best football player in LA to have that last name for now.
